Biodegradable, compostable primary packaging made from algae foil that can be eaten. Secondary packaging made from sugar cane that is malleable, water resistant, and suitable for freezing temperatures. An invisible code that when scanned offers the consumer a world of content, from ingredients to allergens to promotional materials.

It sounds like science fiction, but our packaging experts worked with Hennig-Olsen to develop conceptual designs for their “Icy Treasures” premium ice cream. The packaging concepts were designed to use sustainable materials, generate little to no waste, connect consumers to product information, and achieve brand transparency.

The innovative concept and design won a Gold EPDA Future Packaging Award.
